What's up with Slingshot?

I'm really excited about the whole idea of prepaid broadband. I just hate the idea of getting yet another contract...yuck. I've heard good things about Slingshot, and I think their pricing is decent. But I've had trouble finding a place to buy their product. The store locator on their website is empty, and I can't seem to find any local stores that carry them.


If anyone has used their service, can you let me know how it is? Is it reliable? Do you like the service? Is there anything that I should watch out for? Also, if anyone knows where I can find out where I can buy one of their USB modems, please do let me know!

I know this is supposed to be a place to write reviews of prepaid broadband plans, but I'm really trying to find out more about their service. So I guess you could say that I haven't had a good experience with Slingshot so far because I can't even find a way to buy their product!

I have received a number of inquiries about Slingshot over the past couple of months. Generally speaking, I've also heard that their service is quite good as they are on the Sprint network, so coverage and speed are excellent. However, people have had two general issues. First, they have had trouble finding out where to purchase their service (same as your experience). some stores that sold it before, apparently are no longer carrying their product, though I don't know how wide spread this actually is.

The second issue that I've heard of is that people seeking to purchase the lower value "plans" (i.e. <$59.99) haven't been been able to do so.

I've tried reaching out to Slingshot directly a number of times, however, to no avail. I'll continue to try to get a response. If anyone has any details on these topics, we'd love to hear from you!
