Is the DATA JACK service still available?

by Leesa
(Ocean County, NJ)

Hi... I heard somewhere that the DATA JACK service either wasn't still offering service or have made some kind of change or something to their service. Sorry but I don't know where I saw that.

Do you know if DATA JACK is still in business, and up and running or there is something going on with them?

Thanks in advance.

Whats even funnier is during the 50 hrs or so that I was either on hold or trying to resolve the problem with them I am told that I am the only one in the country experiencing the problem .Deceptive?? I am just waiting for the class action suit

DataJack Prepaid Broadband Issue
by: PrepaidWirelessGuy

Wow, that's truly unbelievable! You're clearly a customer who wants to use their product, so why completely eliminate your service. That's truly insane. Usually companies with caps (which most unlimited plans have; but that's another story!) will simply charge you overages (in the case of postpaid), or limit your speed to something so slow that it's virtually useless. However, I've never heard of a company simply disconneting service. How odd... They should either charge you more, offer a larger bundle, or otherwise ensure that they have a product to offer you that keeps you as a paying, active customer. Hmm...

DataJack Deceptive Advertising
by: Greg

I've had DATAJACK for a little over 3 months. They say unlimited data, they mean unlimited data up to 5G's. I was just notified that I violated my agreement not to exceed 5G per month and am being thrown out for exceeding 5G. There must be a rider hidden in their agreement that sneaks this in. I didn't see it. I think they count on that. I only used it for occasional non commercial stuff and am annoyed that also the most I can get back on their $100.00 modum is $20.
AVOID DATAJACK LIKE THE PLAGUE.

DataJack Prepaid Broadband
by: PrepaidWirelessGuy

As far as I understand, DataJack is still offering its prepaid mobile broadband service. In fact, it's ironic that you ask, because not too long ago (maybe 4 or 6 weeks ago) there was a lot of hype about DataJack launching its $40 unlimited plan. I was confused because I had that plan on this site quite a long time before these announcements.

I'm thinking that nothing actually changed with their plan per se, but they were doing some type of marketing blitz to gain additional attention during a time where a number of prepaid wireless providers were launching new prepaid broadband services. i.e. I didn't have any inside information that allowed me to post their prepaid broadband plan/pricing months, and months, and months before the announcement. So either it was a specific marketing initiative, or they had soft launched with I first saw their offering, and this announcement was their hard launch.

If you have read something somewhere to make you think that there's potentially something going on with DataJack, please feel free to post that here and I'll be happy to review and share my opinion. i.e. I'm not aware of anything specific that would indicate that they're no longer offering service.
