Comprehensive Prepaid Wireless and Prepaid Broadband Information

by Happy Visitor

I can't tell you how much I appreciated finding this site! There's such a mess of options out there for prepaid wireless and wireless broadband these days that it's so hard to compare them all. I started comparing just a handful of providers and it quickly became a frustrating task.

I found your site when I was researching prepaid broadband. I wish I had found it earlier for prepaid wireless (phone) plans as well. I don't now why this site doesn't rank higher for more prepaid wireless topics!

I occasionally come back to the site to see what's new, and I noticed that you keep up pretty well with what's going on. For example, I saw that you added a section on prepaid smartphones and tablet computers like the iPad and Android tablets. So many sites out there these days start out with great details, but then get stale over time as they don't update their sites to show new topics in the marketplace. But you do a great job at keeping up with things, so thank you! I hope the site continues to do well (I assume it does well?), and that more and more people learn about it so that they too can benefit from all of the great information. Thank you!

An Ever Changing Prepaid Market NEW
by: PrepaidWirelessGuy

I know this post was written awhile ago, but I wanted to circle back to comment on the fact that the prepaid wireless and prepaid broadband markets have changed so much in recent years that it’s really amazing. In fact, at the time I added the prepaid smartphone section that you mention, there were only one or two phones! Now the page is so long it hard to keep it organized.

And interestingly, the pages the site used to get most of its traffic from have completely changed to new pages on very different topics. This is really telling how important it is to keep working on the site and keeping things updated. If not, the risk of the site getting completely stale and ultimately disappearing is extremely high; yikes!

What started out as just prepaid wireless voice plans, veered towards prepaid mobile broadband based on customer interest. That then morphed into interested in prepaid MiFi modems (i.e. hotspots), and then prepaid smartphones and data. It’s interesting because I expect that information on the classic prepaid voice plans will still be needed, however, I have no idea what will be the next big thing! I suppose time will tell. I can only hope that it’s prepaid wireless related, or else I’ll be stuck trying to figure out what new site I should be building!

Great Site...Informative and Useful!

Stumbled upon this site while searching for information on prepaid wireless phones. This site has so much useful information. I originally heard that prepaid wireless phones can be much less expensive overall then a regular monthly phone plan. The information is informative and very useful. Your site has allowed me to quickly compare the different types of plans. I also learned about prepaid broadband which is really interesting. I didn't know that this existed. It's an interesting concept especially if you travel... I might spend two weeks on business and rather then paying the hotel $13.99 a day, I could sign up for a 7 day or 14 day plan for much less... what a great idea.

Prepaid Broadband Is Everywhere Now! NEW
by: PrepaidWirelessGuy

I was reviewing this post and couldn't believe that over three years has passed since this comment; wow! At that time there were only a few prepaid mobile broadband providers, however, now the list got so long that I had to completely reorganize the table and how it was displayed as it was stretching out so far that it was virtually unreadable without scrolling all over the place!

In fact, since then, no contract broadband has become so popular that the traffic I get to the site is far greater on mobile broadband and related topics than it is on classic voice prepaid wireless plans. Do you believe it?!

The hot topic related to broadband now has been prepaid MiFi = mobile hotspots, which allows you to connect multiple WiFi devices to one cellular modem as a personal hotspot. It's a great technology, which I think will ultimately replace USB devices, and PC card modems are still available but nearing extinction.

Anyway, I keep updating this site, so each time you visit it promises to offer new and exciting information!

I'm happy you found the information useful!
by: PrepaidWirelessGuy

Jonathan - Thank you very much for the kind words. With all of the options now available out there for prepaid, I'm happy that the information on the site could be useful to you.

Yeah, prepaid broadband really is catching on. It's such a great idea. Why would people want to sign yet another contract, particular for a service that hasn't been around as long as traditional voice cellular. i.e. You don't have to sign a contract, can try it out, see if it meets your needs, and if not, you're not obligated to continue paying month to month until your contract ends. And if carriers want to keep you as a customer, they'll need to continue to provide good value and good service, without contractually locking you in...imagine that! ;-)

Very Useful and Honest

I was looking for a Prepaid Wireless Internet service and this is the only place where I found an orderly list of providers with details and a comparison among them.

I checked all the companies and one of them was not offering the service anymore, so I informed this website and they updated immediately that info, and even contacted me to thank me for the update.

Also they helped me reach other companies that provided the service.

Undoubtedly , this is a very well maintained website, with reliable info, and excellent predisposition to help you if you need to know more about the info mentioned here.

Fantastic

by Emily

As a nineteen year old who thought she was pretty 'find-the-best-deal' savvy, the sites and plans out there are so muddled that it's staggering. There are no words that could possibly describe the intense relief I felt when I found this site. Finally, no-nonsense and straight-forward information all in one go.

Thank you. So. Much.

Thank you for your time
by: PrepaidWirelessGuy

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback on the site. Hearing from visitors to the site is always much appreciated! It truly is amazing how convoluted the prepaid wireless and prepaid broadband market is. I monitor the industry and live and breathe this prepaid wireless stuff all day, every day, and to be honest, I find it difficult to keep up with everything. And to make it even worse, some of the plans and offerings are so confusing that it’s hard to understand some of this stuff. Of course, I spend a lot of time working on understanding and untangling everything, but no doubt that the average person who doesn’t want to live this stuff all the time would get frustrated pretty quickly!

It’s interesting, because when I first started this site, there were only a fraction of prepaid wireless carriers available, and Unlimited plans didn’t even exist! Even more interesting is the fact that prepaid smartphones weren’t even a concept. When I first put up that page, there was only one phone, and now the list is so long that I need to think of a better way to display the information. Also, prepaid mobile broadband plans didn’t exist, and again, there was only one provider available when I first put up that page!

I only wish that there were an easier way to get this information out to anyway and everyone who is interested. It takes a long time (years!) to build content that the search engines pickup, and to some degree people refer their friends to the site, or link to it from Facebook or Twitter.

Anyway, I’m thrilled to know that you find the site helpful, and I will continue to do my best to add more information as new products and plans launch, and hopefully untangle the confusion in a straightforward way to view your options. Everyone has such unique needs that an easy way to see what’s available and compare prepaid wireless plans really is the objective of the site, and I stay neutral in terms of not pushing any particular one product or service. Thank again!
