I came across a company that was not listed on here, the company is called WifiRents, and through them you can rent a mobile broadband card (that is already activated and ready to go. They carry both AT&T and Verizon, and they have USB modems, Express cards, Type II cards, and even routers. Each time I ordered I was very pleased with their service. I have used the Verizon USB and the Type II card, and both have worked out great.

I have Internet at home and at work, so for me their rental plans were great because when I leave for vacations I need to stay in touch and not having to sign into a 2 year contract is WONDERFUL.

My company now uses them for trade show events to avoid the high cost of Internet service at many of the convention centers.
