Rogers Pay As You Go vs. Telus Prepaid

So far so good, the service has been good but some dead spots where I live. You have no phone service with rogers in Hearst, Ontario while on the other hand Telus does as it runs off of Northern mobility towers. It works great in Kapuskasing. You have some dead zones with Rogers between Kap and Cochrane. As well as some drops for both providers from Cochrane to Northbay although it is not all that bad. I use both providers in Noelville, St Charles, Sudbury in the summer. Rogers only works in Noelville, not Telus. In St Charles, you get full bars with Rogers and need to sit by the window with Telus. Sudbury area is fine for both. Near West-Arm of lake Nippissing at Victoria Lodge. You need to either get high on the rock or stay in one position for both providers. Although I find that Rogers is slightly better. Another problem on the lake is that you pick up towers that are long distance which if you turn 45 degrees you will local again.
As for plans. I have Rogers 25 cents for first 5 minutes then drops to 15 cents. Text are expensive, 15 cents per text or you can buy a $3.00 for 60, $6 for like 125 or 2500 text for $10. Long distance is .30 cents which is cheaper than Telus. Rogers has a SIM card.
Telus on the other hand I find better for kids.
If happen to take the $5.00 250 text msg prepaid plan. Your minutes drop to .20 cents, but long distance is .40 cents. No SIM card unless the new inQ 3G phone.
So to compare both. They both use same amount of local minutes if you talk for ten minutes ( Rogers .25 x 5 + .15 x5 = $2.00 ) or (Telus, .20 x 10 = $2.00)
The catch, with Telus you have to get the $5.00 250 text msg to get the .20 cents a minute. Otherwise you pay like .30 cents.
Another catch 22 with Telus that you don't have with Rogers. When you top off minutes by phone using credit card or want to make changes to your prepaid plan, they charge you a $2.00 fee for every change you want to make. To avoid the charges, you do it yourself online on their website costumer account. You will need to create a user name and password.
They both have the $100.00 cards and last 365 days.
Hope this helps.
