Mobile broadband service is becoming more and more popular, and I expect that before too long, it will be like cell phones; i.e. everyone will have it! The Internet, and being connected to friends, family, and work is now a basic expectation, and whether you have a laptop or Netbook, without Internet access, in today's world computers become less useful, and even useless for many people. Prepaid Mobile Broadband is a great option for those seeking regular access without signing a contract. And Mobile Broadband Rental is a great option for the occasional user. However, if you find yourself in the following circumstances, there's another option for you to consider!

While you like the idea of a no contract prepaid mobile broadband service, you don't need it everyday, or even regularly, to make it worthwhile to purchase prepaid access for 7, 10, or 30 days at a time.

Despite the higher cost of mobile broadband rentals, you like the flexibility it provides for only paying for a small number of days at a time, however, you don't want to have to plan far enough in advance to ensure that you receive the rental broadband modem in the mail on by the day you need it.

Consider the convenience of not having to wait for delivery of an aircard rental modem, which could become extremely cumbersome especially if you're on the move traveling, or make a last minute hotel change for example. You might miss the delivery, or it might end up at the wrong hotel! Also, you won't have to worry about sending it back after the rental period is over. You just call to activate service 24 hours before you need it. Simple. Easy. Done!

The benefit of renting, however, is that you'll get access to newer technology than if you continue to use your own modem. Of course you can always buy a new modem, but most of us try to do that a little as possible to avoid extra cost. That said, I've been using the same modem now for over three years, and have had no problems. Sure, it's not the newer EVDO-RevA hardware, but for what I use it for, I have no complaints!
