Apple iPad - I Believe In Magic Again

by Brad Donnelly
(Philadelphia, PA, USA)

I just want to say that I love my new iPad and that I'm amazed at how well it works. I bought one for my niece as an early Christmas present (just to check it out). This thing is absolutely magical! I've worked with (and on) computers since the mid 80's and cannot begin to imagine how this small device supplies such a big bang for the buck.

If you take the time to really see what this machine can do = you'll want to buy one. When you do buy one; you'll be happy with your decision.

Is there a tablet market or just an iPad market?
by: Anonymous

Well it's been over a year since the last comment on this post, and wow, how many millions, no, make that tens of millions of iPads have been sold since then?! It seems as though the magic of the iPad, as was said, is truly real.

In the past year a lot of other tablets have been launched. Many even more capable than the iPad. For example, before the iPad 2, the Samsung Galaxy Tab had two cameras (front and rear facing) while the iPad 1 had no cameras! They even had expandable memory, USB ports, faster processors, etc. But still people flock to stores to buy iPads that actually even cost more. It truly is amazing. Actually magic really is a great way to put it!

Someone in the media made an interesting observation that when Apple came out with the iPod, even though there were other mp3 players that were more capable in many ways, they never really took off, and largely disappeared (although some still linger around even today). They noted that Apple created a market for the iPod and NOT a market for mp3 players. Sorry, I don't remember where I read this, otherwise I would give credit to that person. I just remember reading it and thinking how interesting a comment it was. And now with the iPad, I think the same question can be asked. Is there a market for tablets or really just iPads?

I do actually think that there is more of a market for tablets in general now than there were for mp3 players in this last analogy, but whether they'll ever surpass the iPad is a good question. I think there's a good chance than in ten years the iPad will have market share much like Apple computers have today compared to Windows PCs. Especially if Apple's prices remain high as the rest of the market comes down in price. It will probably play out much like the smartphone operating system battle is playing out (i.e. Android is outselling iOS). Stay tuned!

Apple iPad Magic
by: PrepaidWirelessGuy

There are so many great things to say about the Apple iPad. I've commented on other posts about the elements of the iPad that I personally don't care for, however, no matter whether you love it or have issues with it (certainly no one could say they hate it!), I think describing it as "magical" is a great way to put it!

No matter what side of the fence someone is on, Apple's iPad has opened up a whole new category; a whole new world of inspiration for tablet computers, eBook readers, or whatever else we want to call them. The future is bright, and as Apple has done so well before, it has proven that there's a demand for this form factor, which will ultimately spur competition to conjure of some amazing new products!
